When you receive your GeoMass energy assessment report, you will see several key metrics. Understanding these helps you make informed decisions about your retrofit or new build.
Heating Degree Days (HDD)
HDD measures how cold your climate is over a year. A higher HDD means more heating demand. Canadian cities range from ~3,000 HDD (Vancouver) to ~8,000 HDD (Yellowknife).
Thermal Envelope Score
This score rates how well your home retains heat. A score above 75 indicates a well-insulated envelope. Below 50 suggests significant heat loss through walls, roof, or windows.
Payback Period
The report calculates your estimated payback period based on current energy prices, your consumption, and the projected savings from the GeoMass system. Most homeowners see payback in 7–12 years.
